Dad hangs Son, 3

German police have launched a Europe-wide manhunt for a dad who is suspected of beating his ex-wife to death and then hanging their three-year-old son.

The mum and her son were found dead at their home in rural Rosenheim, near the Austrian border on Monday after neighbours called police over what they thought was a prowler.

Two other children only escaped because they were staying with relatives for the weekend, say police.

Local media reported that the couple had divorced earlier this year after the husband had been released from a prison sentence.
