Nature-loving Germans are turning their backs on the nation's fascination with nude sunbathing, new figures have revealed.
Membership of the country's official nudist organisation - the FKK, or Free Body Culture - has fallen to just 38,000 members, the group has announced.
Germany claims to have launched the nudist culture in Europe in 1903 with the world's first naturist club.
Since then millions of holidaying Germans have spread the message by letting it all hang out on trips around the world.
But FKK president Kurt Fischer said: "In a way we're the victims of our own success."
"Nudity is so popular now it is seen everywhere and no longer seems to need a club or a society," he added.
