Facebook party fines
Cops in Germany are clamping down on Facebook users who organise mass parties by issuing £150,000 fines.
One fun-loving Facebooker from the university town of Konstanz in south-west Germany is facing such a fine after arranging a party at a local beach on the social networking site.
Hundreds of people turned up to the event only to be met by officers who handcuffed those who refused to leave.
Authorities are now investigating the organiser for wasting police time.
A police spokesman said: "It costs around 200,000 euros to police illegal events like this. We believe we know who organised the party and are investigating that person. If charged he may have to cover the costs."
