Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has been accused of seducing the wife of the pop producer who helped make him a star.

German-based Jack White claims in his new memoirs that the star bedded his wife Marie-Louise while they were working on the star's first hit, Looking for Freedom in 1989.

"David was an absolute philanderer. His affair with my wife led to the break-up of our marriage.

"He had more money, and his success and love of money ruined his character. He is an artist whose self-esteem warped him," White claimed in his autobiography, serialised in German media.
