Alcoholic Philipp Hofmann, 31, almost died from alcohol poisoning after a heavy drinking session to celebrate his successful release from an alcohol rehabilitation clinic at Dessau-Rosslau in Germany.
The insurance salesman was discovered unconscious on a train and after ticket inspectors failed to rouse him he was taken to hospital where he was found to be more than 10 times over the drink-driving limit.
He told doctors he had been celebrating his release from the clinic and only planned to have one drink
